After graduating with his Ph.D. in 1991, Mr. Lipp joined (Raytheon) E-Systems as a systems analyst/programmer for applications in airborne systems. Devised novel algorithms for antenna pointing and tracking. In 1994 Mr. Lipp joined the University of New Orleans Department of Mechanical Engineering as an assistant professor, teaching courses in Manufacturing Processes, Control Systems Design, Engineering Mechanics and Advanced Control, to name a few.
In 1997 Mr. Lipp ventured into private industry, working in such varied areas as ASME pressure vessel design/construction, refinery controls and design, and structural software design for offshore and semi-submersible structures. In the structural design area, unique finite-element schemes were devised and developed from beginning to end. Numerous software sets were built and tested. Mr. Lipp joined GSI in 2006 as product development specialist, and works today in consulting and software design.
